Vintage Photography

Moments caught in time are images produced by many different processes: ambrotypes - imagines (meaning literally, the image or face) on glass, cabinet photos, carte de visite or CDV (also carte-de-visite) - portrait cards, daguerreotypes (original French: daguerréotype) - plates on metal and stereoscopic views. Photos of sepia tone and silver gelatin are always in demand. The photogravures (fō'tə-grə-vyŏŏr') of Edward Curtis are a true prize.
