Hello From the Mousehole

Hi Folks - My name is Rob Jaiven, and I will be serving as the group moderator for the Disneyana Group of the Travelers Antique Guide. My interest and knowledge is mostly in the area of vintage original animation production art - that is art that was created by Disney Studios as part of the production of an animated cartoon. This includes production animation drawings, cels, backgrounds, concept art, and any art that was specifically used in the production process. My interest also extends to original release cartoon movie posters, publicity art, original newspaper comic strip art, and original comic book art (I'm a DC guy). Also any art by Carl Barks, who, affectionately known as the Duckman, created Disney's Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck's nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and wrote and illustrated the adventure stories which appeared in Walt Disney Comics and Stories starting in the 1940's. (There is an argument to be made, supported by both Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, that these stories directly led to the creation of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars.) Any other vintage Disneyana is also of interest to me, but it is only in the area of vintage animation art that my history and expertise gives me the knowledge to be one of the experts in that field.
