Message from the Editor - dated 5/30/2012

Thank you for taking the time to read this very important message. First, let me just say we are not going to ask you for money!!!

For years we have done extremely well in Google search results and continue to do well. In the past month Google has changed the algorithm that they use to rank sites. One of the changes that they have made is that they look at the return visitors to a site. One of our biggest successes at Travelers Antique Guide is now one of our biggest problems. In a nutshell, we have made our listings so search engine friendly that people immediately find what they are looking for on our web site and then leave, forgetting to bookmark or favorite our site for later use. Now Google will penalize us if our users are not coming back through their bookmarks or other link and our results in the search listings at Google will be less prominent.

There is a solution, but we need your help. We could plaster "bookmark us" links all over our web site but really, that's just not us. We would much rather just ask you to please bookmark us or subscribe to our newsletter or sign up for notifications of shows in your area (at the bottom of every show). No matter which way you do it, Google will see that you are a loyal visitor and keep us ranked high so that we can can continue to grow and give you, our valued visitor, the information you need to find the shops, shows and auctions wherever you are.
